Normally these type of monitoring tool the administrator behind will be able to remotely access your system and see what you are doing, they will also be able to do keylogging and also track all your web browsing history.

I would suggest you don't do any personal stuffs on that laptop.

Its the same, no matter which wifi or data you are on. The software will work as long as there's internet.

You can take a look at this website:

https://www.solarwindsmsp.com/conten...nitoring-tools

they don't really say what the software really does, but it's bascially spying thou.

All and everything will be logged and captured in log file.

If they want to dig deep, they can find all websites that you went to, plus downloads. Essentially, every info packet that goes out of the port of laptop and from Internet into the port to the laptop. With IP addresses, time and date stamp.

Just don't do anything on the device. If gone once or twice before, they won't ask as could be random. Third time, they will monitor for traffic pattern.

Buy a cheapo tablet on-line to pursue your hobby.

never use company devices for your surfing needs..

one of my senior directors got fired by the big boss after he got caught for surfing and booking escort websites.

I was told everything you do on the device is logged and capture including your passwords and some can even do reverse encryption algorithm on encrypted files. So basically everything you do on that device is an open book for your employer to read.

Your company is not spying as its T and C in the employment contract. So everyone knows, unless it's installed on the PC without any knowledge

Now I understand why the guys from the IT dept never use the company's computers and laptops even though there are plenty of spare units available. They always bring and use their own personal laptops.

I have used the admin interface of one of this kind of system. The amount of data that they can dig off you is crazy.

If they enable all tracking, the webcam will record you 24/7 even when you disable it via Device Manager. The only way to stop that is to physically tape 3 layers of white paper on the webcam.

In addition, they can dig your skype, chrome, firefox,IE web data including cookies and session for logging. Your videos/photos/music are not spared as well. My suggestion is not to use any laptops installed with these software for personal use as the risk is too huge. Stick to personal laptops.

I use 2 layers of black tapes to cover the camera. I always clear my cookies before I log out.

Not gonna work. You can delete, clean, clear or do whatever you wish but the data would have oredi been captured and logged.

It's always good to be buddies with the IT guys. Fortunately for me I am insynch with those guys in my company as we share the same interests..... drinking and soccer. These guys often have access to the intimate secrets of our colleagues. I learnt from them that one of our business development managers was also moonlighting as a freelancer. Although she was careful to lock and encrypt her personal folder but it is no use when the IT guys want to have a look in. :D

Re: MSP monitoring tool

when u know such tools is install in your system is better not to use it for personal use.

Example like internet banking, uploading photos, senting photo over email etc. '

So have not hear any blackmailing stories except gossiping and well words get around. If you doing something personal on you office property.

We have smart phone is better to keep all personal usage to our device.

So better protect your own asses....

Give a example someone from the office a Married Assistant Manager whom is having family issue pour her woe to her Married Director they soon became underground lover. They use the office chat system to chat with code not openly saying stuff also uses for personal emailing. Gossip fly soon words get twisted well management heard of it both were ask to tender.

Until now, I am still amazed that people use office computers for their personal stuff, especially when it is those cannot-see-light stuff.

So long it is company's equipment, dun use it for personal use, especially those cannot-see-light stuff. You may think that you have been surfing porn on company computer and so far nothing has happen. Wait till one day they need to get rid of you, they will dig up your entire history and use it as a reason to let you go.

I am an IT guy myself and during my years, i have known and seen a lot of data. I have also always get first hand notice on which staff or management is going to be transferred and fired etc.

The poor bugger do not know what's coming but for me it will have already been old news.

I have seen very sensitive data in companies and the users but it's part of my profession to keep all these a secret.

That's why it's always good to be friends with the IT guys, they can help you or even sabo you.
