All the domain names, for example sammyboyforum.com ; sbfsg.net ; sammyboyforum.co.nz are just that, names. In layman's speak, is just a public phone book name entry, you want to store as whatever name you want, also can, as long as you pay for the domain names.
The IP address, is the actual address allocated for the server, or in layman's speak, the actual telephone number. You can be known as tanahkow.com ; mrtbreakdown.com ; as long as you point these addresses on the DNS name servers to the correct IP, anyone connecting to the above domain names will search the name servers for the correct IP address to connect to.
