Chitchat PAP's Fears

An honorable member of the Coffee Shop Has Just Posted the Following:

The PAP is fearful of:

1. Tan Cheng Bock standing for election at the Elected Presidency Election next year
2. Singaporeans voting for TCB and defeating the pap's endorsed candidate

These are valid and realistic fears for the pap.

What is wrong is that instead of resolving the root causes of these fears, LHL chooses to sweep these causes under the carpet and try to deny TCB standing for the EP and giving Singaporeans no choice.

LHL is thinking of only stop gap solutions to a fundamental problem that pap has created and is making a fool of himself and playing racial politics. The problem still exist. Singaporeans want a truly independent EP who can check the govt, not a puppet like SRN and TT. Most Singaporeans can see that except LHL.

I hope that the coming discussion for the proposed White Paper will go to the root of the EP problem rather than just a white wash which the pap hopes to do. If not thoroughly discussed, the root causes will surface again in future
